With the temperatures starting to warm up, we’ll soon be seeing an influx of weddings for spring so we have to stay ready.
Shopping for a spring wedding dress can be difficult, but I’m here to guide you in finding the perfect fit.
For starters, we’ll have to consider a few things before choosing the perfect dress. Is the wedding indoors or on the beach? Is the dress code formal or casual? Will the nuptials be held in the middle of the day or in the evening?
All things to consider. The weather is definitely a big component here. Fall and winter wedding guest dresses may be different from what you would wear in the spring and summer.
For one, the color scheme tends to be lighter and brighter. Think pastels, bright florals, shorter LBDs, and ruffles. In 2024, we’ll be seeing a lot of whimsical and ethereal-style trends tulle, ruffles, and chiffon. Think sheer, flowy, and feminine.
SPRING WEDDING GUEST ATTIRE TIPS
- SHAWLS OR LIGHT SCARF – Pack a light layer to wrap around bare shoulders if the weather is cooler than expected. Also, some religious ceremonies may call for a more modest wardrobe so be sure to be mindful. A light layer will be easy to pack into a purse than a cardigan or coat.
- UMBRELLA OR PARASOL– Spring weather can be unpredictable and the last thing you want is to be caught in the rain during the outdoor nuptials. Or if you find yourself at a beach wedding under the blazing sun, a cute parasol will be your best wedding accessory.
- COORDINATED COAT OR CARDIGAN – If the weather is on the cooler side and a shawl will not cut it, layer on a neutral coat that coordinates with your dress. If you’re wearing florals, a light beige or tan coat will pair well. You don’t want prints to clash so stick to neutrals.
- BRING SOME FLATS – I know wearing heels for hours may not be comfortable, especially when the DJ is playing all your 90s hits! If you don’t want to stop getting down on the dance floor, bring some flats that you can swap later in the night. As the night winds down, things tend to get a little more relaxed and casual — no one will notice.
