Purchased an expensive brand new home which had Maytag appliances in it. After about 1 1/2 years the freezer bottom began to constantly freeze and drip onto my floor. I researched the issue and found it was common, simply thaw the area where it freezes. Did it multiple times, we do not overfill our freezer etc. We must take the ice out of the bottom every 4-5 days. My hardwood floors are destroyed now. We purchased a Samsung fridge freezer bottom when they first came out years ago, had it for 7 years, 0 issues, but it went with the house. Now my Maytag oven door is locked shut, also it takes a very long time to boil water. Maytag junk. I am going to buy another Samsung fridge tomorrow.

I purchased a new MVBW725BWO washer. The cycle use and guide chart is generic. It does not remotely match my model. I called customer service. No help. She told me to tell her what I am washing and she will tell me which cycle. Really? Every time I wash a load I need to call her/him? I am not a laundry rookie but this machine has many buttons and choices. I want to do the right thing. Too bad. I washed two blankets and continually get an UL (uneven load) indicator. I have rearranged these two blankets every way possibly and there is no clearing the message. I called Maytag. No help. She told me that I should either 1) unplug the appliance, or 2) trip the breaker. Are you kidding me? If I didnt like those ideas or find them useful, call back and she will dispatch a service technician. Laughable. I guess I can pull them out of the washer, drip water everywhere, hand wring them, and move on. What happen to the good old days?

A week after warranty expired, our 1 year old Maytag gas range (model# MGR7662WS 4) required new Direct Spark Ignitor (DSI) board. Knowing it was just beyond warranty, I inspected wiring first and found that the Bake connector on the DSI was loose, flopping around from a bad solder point on the board. Called Maytag and informed them of this manufacturers defect and all they offered was a $20 discount on a replacement part ($220 instead of $240). It worked with new part for 4 days, then something else went bad causing oven to spark, light, heat to less than 100 degrees, then shut down, then restart, then shut down, then restart, then stop doing anything. It has never worked correctly since then. How can a manufacturer of almost all domestic brands get away with such shoddy workmanship.. Taking advantage of defective or poor quality parts to sell more of the same when they fail and for an enormous markup? Where are the regulators who oversee monopolies and blatant scamming of American consumers?

I purchased a Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer in February 2012. I wish I had understood the workings of the washer before making the purchase. I am not at all happy that the lid locks as soon as the washer starts and unless I push a button to get the lid open. I cannot open the lid to maybe add more items or check to see if the water amount is sufficient or too much. I have no idea how much goes in for each water level. Of course, I cannot take water out but I could put more in if I see it is not enough. And after learning the water levels, I would know just how to determine the level I need. Some man must have designed the panel. Otherwise I am satisfied. I really like the large load capacity. I originally thought I wanted a front load to get a large capacity but this suits me fine.

My Maytag MDB7609AWW2 dishwasher was purchased on 1/2010. Last month, the control board only worked on the right side of the panel and the dishwasher would not run. I called Maytag to see if this was a typical issue with the washer, which they denied. I ordered and replaced the control panel but this did not help. After reading all these posts, I do not think Maytag is being honest with their customers. Also, it looks like even if I am able to fix this issue, it is likely to repeat. I think I will cut my losses now and buy a different brand of dishwasher. I will never buy a Maytag again.

The microwave does everything I need and want it to do perfectly. It has never needed to be repaired or replaced in five years. We bought it on sale from Best Buy and consider it one of the best bargains we have ever made. Easy to operate, easy to clean, sleek and, for an appliance, quite personable. I find it refreshing to say something nice about an inanimate object.

I purchased a new Maytag top loader at Home Depot. They delivered and set up. From the first load, I have had problems with the washer stopping and jerking. Clothing becomes a tangled mess. I contacted Maytag, they suggested I make sure I put on proper setting for the items within the washer. I do not know how one can fail at putting sheets in the washer and putting the setting on sheets and they are so twisted you have to spend time pulling them apart. This happens to almost everything I wash. I believe that I have a lemon, still under warranty, Maytag believes I should pay for a house call. Home Depot will only forward the information to me that Maytag gives to them.

This is a review of a washer that is no longer sold. I bought a top of the line Maytag washer 45 years ago. After around 25 years the control (all mechanical) started sticking during the cycle. I opened it up, sprayed it with TV Tuner cleaner, worked it a few times, and it has worked perfectly ever since. That is the only problem or repair on that machine since it was purchased!

After having issues with bearings in a front load of another brand, we decided upon a top load Maytag. We have had it less than a year and we are not happy with the performance. We are using more detergent because the dispenser seems to be bottomless. Only the front of the little pull out drawer is visible and it never seems to reach the fill line when adding liquid detergent. There is no quick wash cycle. Not everything needs a cycle of nearly an hour or more. The spin cycle does not remove nearly as much dampness/water as our previous frontload. The drum is deep making it difficult to retrieve small items such as socks. My biggest disappointment is finding lint residue on the clothing and it remains even after an extra rinse. This is especially visible on dark clothing. Even the lint filter in our dryer fills up much more quickly than before. After researching, I found that others complained of this same problem.

Bought this machine last spring with high hopes. When I noticed issues, I looked up other reviews and saw so many having the same experiences. It does NOT use enough water to clean or rinse the clothes. My clothes are getting stretched and worn. I have to run extra rinse cycles to get the detergent out of my clothes. For the cost of this machine, it should be working much more efficiently than it does. Not seeing any savings in electricity or water bill due to extra cycles needed. Waste of time and money. Would love to join a class action suit against them for the piece of junk!

I called them within 24 hours to report the issue and requesting a return. Home Depot wont take it back; they said I have to go though the factory warranty to fix any problems. Its like buying a car, once you drive it off the lot its yours they said. 3 weeks after the washer started making noise. Home Depot kept delaying my claim for more than six month so I couldnt dispute the charges with the credit card company and avoid the California lemon law. I consider this a loss of money and time. Worst appliance purchase experience ever.

On April 8, 2017 I was sitting in my Dining room with Dishwasher in the kitchen in cycle cleaning. All of a sudden I heard electrical sizzling and turned to see my Dishwasher was on fire. I got up and opened the door and my Husband shut off the circuit breaker for the Dishwasher. He raced to turn off water under sink and went to disconnect the dishwasher when all of a sudden hot water was shooting all over the place. I tried to catch in a bucket but it was so hot and shooting out hose fast. Kitchen and Dining room were then filled with water. He realized the turnoff under sink was installed at time of house built and cant be fixed without a lot of chopping up under cement.Well finally we cleaned up the mess with mop and towels and relieved neither one of us fell at our age. He unconnected the Dishwasher and secured outside. About 2010 there was a recall on this model Maytag. I reported it and a repair man came to change the cycle panel and said it would be fine, not. Yes almost 7 years later a fire occurred. Just glad we caught it in time without losing our lives or my house. Never, never again will I purchase a Maytag.

I have the Maytag Direct Drive Motor washing & dryer set the is supposed to be “commercial technology.” The washer is supposed to keep wet clothes fresh if they don’t make it to the dryer right away. After 2 years, I disagree in that it offers no better outcome than the much older machine I replaced. Furthermore the dryer cuts off leaving my clothes damp every single time, which I cannot stand. It leaves my clothes to wrinkle terribly and damp to stink if I do not collect them fast. I honestly wish I still had my old set. All the new features simply fail to measure up not to mention over complicate and add expense to repairs.

Very disappointed with my 2014 purchase of model MDB8959SBS3 dishwasher. In fact it is no longer in service. We used the dishwasher approximately twice a day. The wheels on the pull out racks starting falling apart in the first 6 months. Then the soap dispenser failed. It would not shut. We replaced both the wheels and the dispenser only to find ourselves with the exact same problems in a matter of months. My hubby got really good at fixing both of these items. The final straw was earlier this year as when we turned it on the motor/water pump started making a screeching sound. Never had to replace an appliance that was only four years old in my lifetime. Just very disappointed with the quality of Maytags dishwasher.

Very upset that a brand that I had for 30 years and recommended to others as well has turned into a terrible company. Im a single mom and Im not in a position to replace a washer every year. I trusted Maytag! A recall and either replacement of the parts, or delivery of new part to fix the problem should have been put in place. I wrote to Maytag to see if they will do something to fix this problem.I have the set, washer shakes a lot, but works well. Washer also always has a lot of water left on the door seals folds, terrible design... I will post on other sites to warn other customers. This is not OK, my clothes are destroyed. See pictures. Clothes got trapped in a gap that exists in the perimeter of the opening, where it meets the door. Why is there a gap at all???

We got our Maytag fridge approx.18 months ago. There was no trouble the first year and there has been nothing but trouble for the last five months. The freezer started frosting one day which causes temp to get in danger zone - we defrost it with a hair dryer about every week and it has continued to frost up ever since. We have a friend that works for a certified Maytag repair business. He came to our rescue five times and called Maytag hot line for help.Together, they could only suggest that the gasket be replaced. He could not see anything wrong with it but we changed it just in case. Still, the problem continues. When we called Maytag customer service (877-556-57420), we were told that no one has had the problem before us. We just looked online; there are 521 complaints about Maytag. My question now is, how do we get a class action lawsuit going?

Maytag french door bottom freezer model #MFF2558VEB5 - It stinks to read all the similar problems Ive had with my unit. Purchased Nov 2011. Problems started within a year. First minor, deli drawer broke. I use clear duck tape to operate it and that has been fine. But not acceptable. About a year ago the water leak out of bottom freezer was noticed. The bottom inside is frozen sheet. I break up and manually remove quite often. NOTE: I intentionally do not use, did not install, the ice maker - historically they are poor risk so I dont bother. The ice unit is in the machine but not installed. I assume my water build up which freezes on bottom related to poor design of defrost drain and that is supported by other comments here. I find it disgusting. Live and learn. Its B.S.

We just replaced our 20-year-old washer and dryer for a new Maytag Bravos set. The Home Depot staff convinced us that top loading units were of good quality and reliable. We were fairly satisfied with our expensive purchase when our washer stopped spinning. We are just past our 1-year warranty of course so we called the service department. A young man in a beat-up pickup truck showed up and spent his time reading the manual that was hidden under the washer. His best guess was a $300 part plus a $100 fee for him to show up. So to repair a less than 2-year-old machine is $400. Im tempted to buy a different washer. It wont be a Maytag, unless you can convince me otherwise. I give you credit for great advertising! I was convinced that Maytag was a good name with limited repairs.

This is the WORST washing machine I have ever had. You cannot control how much water goes into the machine and the clothes being washed are not even covered by water. They stick out above the water at least a few inches!!! How can anything get clean if no water is touching it! I even add water into the machine at the beginning with jugs of water just to cover the clothes... the machine automatically gets rid of that extra water and when the wash cycle comes on again the clothes are not submerged! I paid A LOT of money for this awful machine and Maytag needs to do something about it! And, yes there is a sticky gummy substance on all the dark clothes! I even put clothes in the washer with a dirt spot on it purposely and the spot is always there when the wash is done. Nothing gets clean! DO NOT BUY this machine... you will be very sorry!!!

My husband and I purchased the Maytag dishwasher model #MDB7609AWW2 in December 2010. July 2012, the control panel would not operate. I called Sears to schedule a repair appointment. (I did not have an extended warranty.) After reading review after review of complaints about Maytag and control panel issues and learning it is a very costly repair, I called Whirlpool which now owns Maytag. (Be advised, Maytag is not the quality product it once was). Reviews also indicate that the replaced control panels are failing within 6 months to a year and a half. After talking to a person in the Maytag/Whirlpool service department, he suggested some things to do: unplug power, unlock control panel, etc. He determined it was most likely the control panel that needed to be replaced. I asked how long a new panel would last informing him of the complaints Id read. All he would tell me was that I had the option to buy an extended warranty. We have decided not repair the dishwasher and will replace it with a non-Maytag and non-Whirlpool brand. I will never buy Maytag or any products made by Whirlpool again. For a major component of the dishwasher to last only a year and a half is unconscionable.

Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB7759SAW3 continues the Whirlpool company legacy

Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB7759SAW3 continues the Whirlpool company legacy of subpar control panels in all of their dishwashers. It is telling that they have been allowed to market the exact same failing parts for well over a decade without any accountability. They had one recall circa 2007-2010 and pushed customers into purchasing the model I have which suffers from the exact same control panel design. To further frustrate the consumer experience, Maytag customer service reps and supervisors allege that they have never heard of a customer having issues with their dishwasher control panel before. The panel beeps endlessly and refuses user input regardless of whether the door is opened or closed. After a power disconnect it will reset and sometimes allow one load to be washed before resuming the non stop beeping. If opened and closed during the beeping it will cycle through a completely new wash cycle on its own and resume beeping. Maytag customer service response this morning was, “thank you for being a Maytag customer”.We will my be purchasing their replacement control panels as they are of poor quality and it is well documented that the new ones fail annually as well. These are “high end” appliances and are not inexpensive. We will simply cease to use whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Kitchenaid, etc. brands in our home and will advise everyone we know to protect themselves the same way.

Just got off the phone with Whirlpool Customer Care after getting the run around between parts and customer service for most of the morning. My issue is with the shelving on my MSF25D2EAS01 Maytag side-by-side refrigerator. The plastic surrounding the glass shelving is disintegrating and they are not admitting to a defective design only that the original part has been obsoleted and a new one is available for purchase (an over $300 expense to replace three shelves) on a unit that is just over 2 years old. I am willing to bet the old part has been replaced with a different design after they realized a substantial number of customer complaints. As an engineer, it is obvious to me that these shelves are poorly designed for their intended purpose, furthermore my work allows me to recommend appliance brands for large projects so I see no reason to recommend Whirlpool or any of its subsidiary brands (Kitchen Aid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air) to any of our clients. Whirlpool quality and customer service is substandard and no better than any imported brand of appliances.

I purchased a Maytag refrigerator (MBF2258XEB), stove (MER8674AB) and dishwasher (MDB7749SBB) on May 26, 2013. So far all three have been worked on. First, the dishwasher would not fill up with water after the trial run. Called the repairman out. A tag was placed in a position that was preventing the dishwasher from loading up with water. Granted, we should have taken the tag off, however, it stated not to. Lucky for me, I am still under warranty. Second, the refrigerator, which is a freezer at the bottom, started to leak. I thought that maybe we were dropping ice. However, I finally called and had the repairman back out. He knew exactly what the problem was because Maytag knew about it. There was a faulty plug. So in a matter of mins the problem was fixed. Lucky me still under warranty. Those two things happen within six months of purchasing these items. Now, the oven does not work. It heats up to the desire temperature but then cuts off. Called the repairman and he thought it might be the lower baking element. Unlucky for me, warranty has expired. So, $90.00 for service call. Received a called from the repairman, $120.00 for labor and $70.00 for the baking element. I purchased the baking element myself, $58.08 and installed it. Still does the same thing. Now I have another appointment for him to come back out and see what is wrong. Another $90.00! So far I have spent $238.08 on a $699.99 stove. I will never buy Maytag again. Depending on the amount to repair will depend on whether or not I go back to Sears and buy Kenmore. I had Kenmore for 10 years with no problems. I should have gone back to Sears for my upgrade. I did contact Maytag via email. I am still waiting for a reply. Live and learn!

I bought a new Maytag Quiet Series 300 in 2005 and have had nothing but problems with it. The internal plastic pieces that hold dishes in place have broken off regularly. The door handle also broke. The dishwasher does not drain all the way every time. Now, the dishwasher will quit randomly before finishing its cycle. Our model (MDB7600 AWB) was not part of the recall, but is a lemon nonetheless. Of course, all of this occurred after our one year warranty had expired. This dishwasher is a lemon and a waste of $400. Well never buy another Maytag product.

Purchased a stackable washer and dryer (Maytag) for our new condo in Feb 2015. After it was installed a few months later the problems began. The washer wasnt removing the water from the clothes. We contacted Maytag and they informed us that they subcontract out to a company called Appliance Service of Central Florida (727-462-0394). Contacted Appliance Service and set up a date to be serviced. Since then, we have had Appliance Service out to our place over 8 times. They found fault in our control panel, our door lock, replaced our motor and have replace several other parts. It has been over 4 months since they started repairs on our machine and have informed me that they have a right to try and fix the problem. I have no problem with this but when and how long do I have to put up with this? They dont seem to care that my wife and I havent had a working washer in over 4 months. The people doing the repairs stated that this machine should have been replaced because it had or has several problems with it and after replacing the motor, electric panel etc it still isnt working. When I contacted Maytag they stated that as long as Appliance Service is working on the problem, it out of their hands. Is there anything I can do besides contacting a lawyer and spending more money?

13 months after installing the dishwasher, the touch pad no longer functioned. Called Maytag 800 number and they said out of warranty. I sent out repair man and he gave me a price for repair totaling approx. $300. Called back to Maytag and asked for a supervisor, she agreed to send the parts for free and I had the repair man install. Out the $120 for the repair and wonder how long it will last this time! I will consider a buying an extended warranty? Next time I will buy a lesser priced dishwasher with a dial, no more touch pads.

I bought a Maytag Top Loader. I soon discovered that it is not possible to do a cold water wash. After much communication with Maytag Customer Service it was determined that there is no way to bypass it. And it uses a lot of hot water, even on a cold wash. Their explanation was that the water needed to be a certain temperature to make the detergent work effectively. The same detergent that I’ve been using for 40 years with cold water in my Speed Queen. When I need to do a cold water wash, I go to my parents home and use their washer. Disappointing purchase, my last Maytag, for sure.

Top of the line $1300 Maytag Maxima MGD8100DW probably rusted much earlier before I noticed. After all how many times you check the drum of brand new top of the line dryer?? Manufacturer says not covered. Not sure but already this brand new model has been discontinued, so the manufacturer i.e. Maytag or Whirlpool take your pick found out about the defective design/part but now does not want to honor the warranty ridiculous. And one of the main selling points was made in USA (which turned out to be only assembled in USA), and the consumer reports which gave good rating but they were duped too.

I have a Maytag refrigerator that is 7 years old. It works fine except it needs a new freezer door gasket. In trying to get the part so it can be repaired I discovered that they had chosen to discontinue production of this part. I can no longer get it anywhere. They were the most unhelpful customer service I have ever worked with. They refused to try to find a part for another model that may work. They refused to offer a discount on a replacement product. They even refused to give me a phone number to talk to management. I had always been a loyal customer to their brand prior to this but I will never again purchase a Whirlpool or Maytag product. I dont expect not to have an issue but I do expect the ability to be supported in obtaining a commonly replaced part for a major appliance that is less than 10 years old.

I bought my Maytag Model LA608 washer in 1976. It has very few electronics and a mechanical timer. It has been used every week since then for 2 or 3 people. It has had 3 problems in its lifetime. I replaced the 2 valves that control the hot and cold water entering the machine. I replaced a small plastic sprayer part. And last year I replaced 3 clamps that rusted and started to leak. Thats it in 40 years. I was able to open up the front and back covers to get at the parts quite easily. It is a simple machine with almost no electronics to stop working. Nothing bothers me about the machine. Its simple and wonderful. When it finally breaks, I will try and find a good sized machine that washes permanent press and regular clothes, has a controller to select hot/cold/warm water temperatures, has a regular and gentle cycle, and has 3 load levels for the water to be used. I will try to find one that is good quality with few electronic parts. I will not buy a high efficiency model that uses less water as I am on a well and water shortage is not a problem where I live. I will not buy a front loading model.I would not buy a machine that has options that I do not need. I would hope to find a quality machine similar to what I have now. I would read as many ratings about the various models before making a selection and then I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. If it is possible, try and find a good quality machine that will be dependable over time. Buy a basic machine with only the options that you really need. There will be fewer parts to stop working.

It seems as its about the extended warranty now. The quality that Maytag advertises is lies. You buy the product and you have no choice but to purchase a warranty on your machine. Simple is better when it last 20 yrs over 2 yrs on a fancy machine. First electric panel machine washer with a horrible experience. It will cost 98 just to look at, that is not including parts and labor. Its 339.15 for a year warranty which equals over 300 per year for 3 years. Overpriced in all ways. Worse choice ever.

We lost our home in a tornado in 2005 and had to buy all new appliances. So, I bought a Maytag Neptune front load washer and dryer. It was my 1st ever. I will never buy another Maytag appliance again. Just at the end of the 5th year going into the 6th year, the bearings started to go. So, I checked with the place where we bought it and was told how expensive it would be to fix. It was anywhere between $500.00 and $700.00. Well, thats crazy. I therefore e-mailed Maytag numerous times and was thanked for my complaint. But they offered no help with this matter. If they dont back their stuff at all, why would I want to buy their stuff? They could have at least offered to help with it. There are only 2 people living in this house and there is no excuse why that washer should start failing already. If I thought it was worth it, I would load it up and drop it off at a Maytag store and leave it there. It still runs. But it makes an awful noise and we are just waiting for it to crap out. I am going to try to sell it for as much as I can get out of it, hopefully before it completely stops. Maybe some fix-it guy would want it. Well tell him whats wrong and they can fix it and sell it to some other poor person. I lost my job in January. Therefore, I cant afford that much to fix it. So, I will now have to try to find something used, because Maytag does not back their stuff. I would rate this machine lower if I could, but that wasnt an option.

When our ice maker (Model # MF12269VEM10) stopped working, we contacted Maytag, only to be told that the 1-year warranty had expired. So we had no recourse but to contract a repairman. He replaced the valve (and in the process, because of Maytags decision to use plastic tabs instead of screws, the tabs for the filter housing broke off in his attempt to reach the rear of refrigerator where the valve went and we had to pay to have the housing replaced, also). The new valve did NOT fix the problem. Water continued to run out of the water dispenser after you removed your glass. We re-contacted the repairman who returned and proclaimed that there was air in the lines and it should work itself out over the next several days. Yet that night, I noticed drops of water running down the control center and filling the drip tray. I placed a towel on the floor and emptied the drip tray several times that night, before turning off the ice maker completely the next day.Unhappy with the original repairman, we contacted another who came out and discovered that the new valve was leaking from the top. That is when the filter housing broke and we had to use duct tape to hold it in place while the new repairman ordered a replacement. He tightened the valve and cycled the ice maker several times only to discover that the water overflow switch on the ice maker wasnt working, thus water was overflowing into the ice maker container. He turned down the water pressure to the refrigerator, and we tested it again. All seemed to be well until the next day when no ice was released from the ice dispenser. When I removed the ice storage bin, I found everything frozen from water overflow. I turned off the ice maker entirely and contacted the repairman, who ordered a new ice maker, which took about a week. After the new ice maker was installed, along with the new filter housing, the repairman cycled the unit several times before leaving. Yet by the next day, the ice in the storage bin was frozen in place again (I have pictures), and we contacted the repairman who ordered yet another ice maker. It took yet another week for the part to come in. After it was replaced, I monitored the ice container each time I heard ice drop into it. The 1st time there were a few drops of water in the bottom of the ice maker. The 2nd time, there was a 1/4 cup of water in the bottom. I immediately contacted the repairman to let him know and turned off the ice maker yet again.I find it hard to believe that a new valve, fresh from the package, and 2 (TWO) ice makers, fresh from the box, were all faulty. The repairs started on February 25th 2015. It is now March 21st and the ice maker is still not repaired. The 2nd repairman is doing his own research into the problem (for which we applaud him!) and now we ask you for your feedback as to the problem and how it can be solved.

We purchased a $500.00 Maytag dishwasher, Model #MDB7749SBW, in August 2013. In December 2014, a little over a year of owning it, the pump failed. We called Maytag and they had a service company come out and replace it. We paid $181.00 for this service call. In July 2015, the control panel failed so we called Maytag to see if they would replace it at their cost. All they are willing to do is to send another service guy out at our expense. The service call is $89.95 and that doesnt include the labor! The total with tax will be close to $200.00 again!!! Now we are getting close to spending $1,000 for this piece of junk! In addition, this dishwasher is only used three times a week because there are only two people living in our household. It is obvious after reading the other complaints that the control panels are defective and I am sure that Maytag is well aware of this issue. So, buyer beware. Dont even consider purchasing a Maytag dishwasher unless you enjoy watching your money flush down the toilet. They dont even deserve a 1 star rating!!!

I bought a Maytag refrigerator, model MBF 2256 KEQ2, two and a half years ago. Now the cooling coils are freezing up. I checked heater and thermostat for continuity and they were okay so the only thing left was the timer control circuit. On the earlier models, the timer control circuit is controlled by a Timer Motor or an Adaptive Defrost Timer which is separate from the main Electronic Control Board and much less expensive. On later models (including mine), the timer control circuit is incorporated into the main Electronic Control Board so if your automatic defrost quits working, more than likely you will have to replace the main board. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I believe they are useless from past experience. I bought the part on Amazon.com, received it in four days and replaced it myself for a cost of $78. This part costs $110 to $118 at Sears or a Maytag dealer.

A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first May

A refrigerator has to keep your food at constant temperature. The first Maytag refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot could not get cold. I mean the refrigerator never got below 65 degrees. I called Maytag and they played dumb. Just wait weeks for a repairman to check a brand new product that is not working. Home Depot replaced it in few days with another refrigerator of the same model. It runs but doesnt get really cold (it only has a fan in the freezer and the air comes down from the freezer to cool the refrigerator). I live with it because all you will get out of Maytag/Whirlpool is to turn the dial to a colder temp. A little over a year passes and the fan in the freezer just stops running. I called a local certified service person. He looks at the fan and says that its running but barely. I had to replace the motor at cost with labor of around 200 dollars. I kept the motor. Turns out the motor is made by Panasonic. The current replacement motor is made in Mexico. Now the refrigerator runs cold. Since I had two of these refrigerators that failed to get/stay cold, I think they got a bad batch of motors. Maytag response was to refuse to pay a dime, it is outside of the warranty - even though I had called about the refrigerator not getting real cold on the second refrigerator. So basically I lived with food being kept at a way too high of temp causing spoilage for a year and Maytag/Whirlpool could care less, they are only worried about their bottom line. That is not the only problem with their product. The drain pan grows a mold that looks like pudding. The only way to clean it is to pull the refrigerator out, take off the motor area cover (which is really cheap cardboard) and clean it out with a rag. There is no way to remove the pan. The compressor is mounted so low that it heats up the floor. I have concrete floors thus I have no fire risk but if you have wood floors, I would check the heat level. It is nearly impossible to clean the dust off the fins on the refrigerator coolant lines. The back of the freezer door shelves are metal and very sharp on the back. Thus if you stick your hand in to pick something up, you will get a nasty cut.I have owned only Maytag, Whirlpool and Amana products my entire life. I will never purchase their products again. They may pretend that you are buying an American product (they use the American flag) but this product is nothing but OEM garbage made by the lowest bidder. They try to sell you an extended warranty for around 300 bucks for an addition 3 years. I figured if the fridge went bad after 3 years, I would just buy a new one. I never expected a motor to fail less than a year (I would say it started going bad about 6 months into ownership as started making ice at a lower rate). Maytag refuses to stand behind their products. When I told them I had the motor that failed, they had no interest in even looking at it. Do not waste your money on their products. I also own a Maytag washer that is the worst washer I have ever owned.

The other three appliances have all given us trouble and the dryer is no longer with us. Our stainless stove is LOVELY but thats about all its good for. Within 12 months, one of the burners burned out... just beyond its warranty. It has two ovens and 3 years after purchase, neither will hold a constant oven temp and both take an eternity to warm up... although the digital temp on the oven tells me its toasty warm. Recently, the dishwashers control panel wont set properly. An attempt to set it for a normal wash/dry cycle results in rinse only and a 2 hour delay. Make them like you used to, Maytag! There needs to be longer warranty and should offer free service calls and much more. I am disgusted in Maytag products and in which we purchased due to a reputable name! Never again.

I have a 4 year old Maytag refrigerator, model F2557HE, with French doors above and freezer below. The compressor is dying, which amounts to total failure of the fridge. Periodically the compressor tries to start, there is a whirring sound that lasts and lasts and repeats as the food defrosts. Then mysteriously hours or days later it starts to run again and the melted ice cube bin turns into an iceberg. The appliance repair company tried replacing the starter to no avail, and now tells me it is the compressor itself. Each time it stops, I transfer my food to the 30 year old Whirlpool in the garage which still works fine.

I purchased a Maytag dryer #MEDB400VQ for $715.48 along with a 5-year warranty for $119.99 on March 30/2012. Since then, the dryer has broken six times. Our warranty stated that after it breaks 3 times, we would get a new dryer. All claims for a new dryer have been denied. The dryer is still broken, going on 10 days, only to find out that parts needed are on back order for two more weeks. This is unacceptable! I will never ever buy a Maytag again and will tell all family and friends my story so they do not purchase a Maytag and go through the hell that Maytag has put my family of five through!

The cost was right for the quality of the product. Brand was also a factor. We have had no problems either machine, both work as expected and have fully met our expectations. We recommend these products. Energy efficiency, ease of use and capacity were all considerations in making the selection we made. Maytag continues to hold a good reputation. Regular repairs, low quality construction and a cheap finish which looks tacky and is also difficult to clean would each be deal breakers. We purchased our full-sized, side by side Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer gently used from a private party who needed to obtain different models due to a remodel of their laundry/utility room. We paid about $600 for the pair.

Do NOT purchase a Maytag dishwasher. What happened to the Maytag repairman being so lonely. Now he has lots of company in the way of angry consumers. Purchased a Maytag dishwasher and less than a year later the control panel failed. It was still under warranty but the service person just tweaked it instead of replacing it. Now, less than a year later it has failed and will cost over $200 to replace and repair. This is disgusting.

I bought Maytag Bravo washer and dryer set in Nov 2012. Washer door lock broke shortly after 1 yr and now the gearbox has broken. DO NOT BUY MAYTAG BRAVO WASHER. The cost to fix is more than the value. Before the gearbox death the sound it made while spinning was so loud you could not hear the TV or have a conversation in the west end of the house. Visitors were stunned at the noise it made. I called Maytag warranty and explained I am having the same issues as everyone else, what are you going to do? The answer was nothing. Please read the other reviews, same issues. It never cleaned clothes anyway, bad design, bad company and bad corporate values. Model number MVWX700XLE.

As all the other reviews day 1 Dryer had no heat, washer unbalanced and knotting all the clothes. Sent out new dryer after trying to fix to no avail. One month after new dryer, normal cycle continues to run and not turn off. Repairs again - new computer board. Now washer is winding high pitch noise level - repair new bearings. Thank goodness for warranty. But washer and dryer act up again. I purchased extended warranty. Washer tub needed replacing because transmission went out, dryer again control panel problems. Last night the dryer started on FIRE. I’m sure because the control panel normal was not working again after it was replaced less than 2 yrs ago. Total time owned 6 miserable years. 3 months after we purchased our Maytag dishwasher in Jan 2014 (Sears) it broke. The service person told us that the ELECTRONIC CONTROL PANEL (START, CANCEL, WASH CYCLE SELECTIONS) was a common breakage issue and fixed it. It broke again around one year from our purchase date. Same issue, but kept working and not working. Finally we contacted Maytags customer service. Although courteous the only thing we were offered for this common Maytag issue was a $249.95 one year warranty for them to come and fix this recurring problem. I explained that we had already spent about $870 (including tax, delivery and installation) for our middle of the line dishwasher one and a half years ago and asked if they would consider either charging us for a smaller service call/repair or just do it because it seems to be a design and manufacturing issue. After one hour and no sympathy I had to pay the $249.95 to get a repair person out and be covered for one year from today. I dont trust the cheap quality and the lack of support for the product. THEY ARE OUT THERE TO SELL MORE INSURANCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DOESNT MATTER!

I bought a Maytag Gemini double oven gas range 5 burners (model MGT8885XS000), even air true convection cooking. Within 4 months, 1 of the gas valves (knobs to turn gas on with) froze. I could not turn one of the top burners off. Maytag came out and fixed it. Three months later, another one froze. Again Maytag came out and fixed it. Our warranty ended. Over the next year, all five burner valves have frozen. I called Maytag, told them what happened. The most they could do for me was to give me the part half off. So I can pay $200.00 for parts and pay for a repairman to come out and fix it. The oven cost $2,000.00. I am still paying for it. Chances are if I repaired it would break again.

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2

We are a family of three. We purchased our Washer and Dryer New, November 2011 at Lowes, in Lindale TX. I am disabled. I have had several spine surgeries and getting ready for another. I was injured at work and it left me crippled. I do not receive any benefits from my County Employer. My wife is a schoolteacher. We live on a limited income after my accident. We purchased this set with utmost confidence, our last set was twenty years old. We updated due to water, electric, and the environment. Our Maytags we had were still usable, it was just time for their retirement. They were hand me downs washer and dryer set. Truly! I dont know how old they were. When our washer started having troubles, it was making a horrible noise. We called Hughes Appliance. Theyre an authorized Maytag Repair Service Warranty Center. They sent Mark out we used them before. He stated the motor was not loctited from the factory. It worked its way loose almost coming completely off. This cost me a $85 service call. Mark also stated that the Tub Bearings were going out because off this. He called Maytag Customer Service and Dealer Warranty Service, said they wouldnt pay for the repairs or even the Service call for their factorys snotty WorkmanShip. I tried calling myself and got absolutely nowhere. I was polite, courteous and nice and they still Said, Sorry, We Know its less than three years old but thats the way it is. Sorry Sir! Have Nice Day! Its going to cost $389 to replace the tub bearings in top load washer. The washer only cost about 750 less than three years ago. Its the most expensive clothes washer Ive ever owned. One thing! If they dont make things right, I promise I will never own a Maytag again! And when I am in a store and see someone looking at their product I will make a point to tell them my situation and about my Maytag Washer. One thing is certain I can make sure young customer dont buy the wrong appliances while I sit patiently in my wheelchair waiting on my wife. Thanks Maytag! Its not What You Did For Me! Its What I Can Do For You!

Because of the power of advertising, we replaced every appliance in our home in 2005 with Maytags. Since then, weve had minor problems with the stove and dryer, many problems with the dishwasher and washing machine, and complete failure of two Maytag microwaves, the last one was only two years old. The washing machine failures resulted in major flood damage two separate times due to two separate failures. Our refrigerator, model MBB2256GEW, has yet to let us down, however, since new it makes loud snapping noises that wake us up at night. It sounds like someone banging two large sticks together. Fortunately, I can repair most of these issues when they arise, but Id much rather get some rest like the Maytag repair man...

We have purchased several washer/dryer sets in the past decade & will never purchase another Maytag. After 3 years of very light use, it stopped working. We had a certified Maytag repairman come & tell us we needed a $600 circuit board replaced. We reluctantly paid for it and 3 months later, intermittent problems began. Plus, it is obnoxiously loud. The repairman said this is normal. Randomly stopping the cycle, not starting the cycle at all without multiple restarts ... the list goes on. The 3 Lg sets we have bought are awesome. Maytag may have been king in the 60s, but the quality of their products has tanked. Dont waste your money on their products.

Leaking water and puddles in front (each side) of refrigerator. Purchased from Home Depot on 12-20-2011... After doing a search on the internet I found that this is a common problem with the Maytag refrigerator. This model is a two door with ice maker on left door and freezer on bottom of unit. Looks like Maytag does not want to be bothered with my problem. Model #MF12569YEW. It certainly was not an inexpensive model. Whatever happened to the Maytag repairman who was never needed because the Maytag products were so great???Updated on 03/21/2015This is not the first time this Maytag product had problems. Expensive piece of junk in my book! First, as many consumers have experienced there was water leaking in front of the refrigerator onto our hardwood floor. Now the door gasket seal ripped on the end tabs. What happened to Maytag?

We were replacing a 4 year old Whirlpool Duet washer (bought on recommendation from sister-in-law) that needed the third repair and was putting holes in our clothes. We had purchased the warranty (which we had never done before) so Lowes gave us the choice of machines and we decided to go with the Maytag Bravos. Lo and behold, were still getting holes in clothes. Several repairman told us the issue is common and is caused by the force of the water flowing into the machines plus the rapid spin cycle which pushes the clothes through the punched holes in the tub and the clothes catch on the metal on opposite side of the tub. Turns out sister-in-law had the same problem with her Duet and (not knowing I bought the Bravos and had the same issues) bought the Bravos and also is still getting holes. So I know its not just me.We also have problem with the machine not putting in enough water so clothes do not come out clean. In fact, a lot of stuff comes out with areas that havent even gotten wet during the wash cycle. I just want an old fashioned machine with an agitator that fills the machine fully, washes my clothes and doesnt put holes in them.

My husband and I purchased a new Maytag dishwasher in March of 2012 at a cost of around $650. There is only the two of us at home and I only run the dishwasher 2-3 times per week. On June 16th, I went to run the dishwasher and it would not turn on after hitting the start button. The cycle buttons lit up but the dishwasher would not start. I called the service number in the user instruction manual and talked to a service representative. I was told that the electronic panel that runs the dishwasher is not covered under the 2nd-10th year limited warranty. It would cost around $291 to fix including parts and labor. When I asked for a qualified Maytag repair service company in my area, she only had one company to give me. This company does not have a very good local reputation so I preferred not to use it. My question is - How can a part that runs the dishwasher not be covered under the warranty? If the start button on the control panel is defective then the machine will not work. I also have a model MDB7749AWW2. After reading some of the 356 complaints about this very dishwasher, I think the Maytag Company must be well aware that there is a problem with this machines control panel and they are choosing to disregard the customer. My old dishwasher was a Kenmore and it ran for 27 years and I only had to replace the motor once. I will not be buying anything Maytag in the future.

We purchased a Maytag Commercial Technology washer from Lowes. After having the washer for only 3 months, the drum failed, an entire load of clothes was turned black with oil, and my washer was out of service for months. The drum had to be replaced. They did not offer me a replacement. I was just without a washer. They couldnt get the parts because of supply issues created by Covid. I was offered a 2-year additional warranty which should have carried me through 2022. Last week, I called to use the warranty - service was scheduled (and I was told that I did indeed have a warranty by the service team.) I was then told by the repair team that I was out of warranty. Maytags notes show I was only offered a 1 year additional warranty. I talked with Management at Maytag/Whirlpool - they will do nothing for me. Shame on me for not getting that in writing.
