A luxurious wedding venue for a lavish affair, we offer exclusive services and strive to ensure all our celebrations are exceptional and our romantic castle is the perfect venue for the most special experience of your life.

A wedding venue like no other, the grand St Donat’s Castle is located on the beautiful South Wales coastline near Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan, just 40 minutes from Central Cardiff and 50 minutes from Swansea.

The Bradenstoke Hall, Inner Courtyard and Great Hall boast an abundance of charm and character for the perfect wedding venue, with exposed bath stone walls and 20ft ceilings – a neutral palette to compliment your wedding decor. The original Tudor gardens and lawns are perfectly manicured and sweep down to the Bay of St Donat’s providing the most incredible picture-perfect moments for your photographer to capture.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with award-winning event organisers and wedding planners, Town & Country Collective to create the wedding day of your dreams. Their excellent team will take you through your wedding planning journey and deliver you the day of your dreams. What’s more, with hotels in the local area, they can offer exclusive accommodation rates for you and your guests.

Also known as the remarkable UWC Atlantic College, we usually host weddings (with a minimum of 80 guests on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank Holiday weekends) any day of the week outside of the College term between mid-June to mid-August. The Inner Courtyard is licensed for outdoor ceremonies for up to 160 guests, a truly idyllic outdoor location to say your ‘I do’s’.

The grand Bradenstoke Hall can accommodate 160 guests for a wedding breakfast and 200 guests for an evening party. Hire of the castle is available from 12.30pm to midnight (with access for supplier setup from 10am)

On-site you will also find the charming St Donat’s Church which can accommodate a wedding ceremony for up to 100 guests, bookable by the St Illtud’s Church Parish Office.

As one of the best wedding venues in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales, we want to ensure every aspect of planning your special day goes smoothly. We have carefully selected the following suppliers who we are happy to recommend to help plan your wedding day to perfection. We recommend these suppliers based on merit alone but we are happy for you to source your own suppliers should you wish.

Choose from a wide range of accommodation properties in the Vale of Glamorgan, from hotels to glamping sites to quaint cottages for hire. St Donat’s Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan is a short 20 minute drive from Bridgend and just 30 minutes from the outskirts of Cardiff.

If you want your guests on the dancefloor all evening, you need entertainment that is right for you. Whether you are looking for a band, DJ or both; whether it is 60s funk, 80s rock or 90s pop you like – book an artist that has a style you can shimmy on down to.

Do you imagine something grand with tiers upon tiers or something a little out of the ordinary such as a wedding cake made of cheese? Whatever your taste, South Wales has a range of talented artisan cake makers to choose from.

Are you planning a horse-drawn carriage for your big entrance or perhaps a more vintage ride? St Donat’s portcullis is the perfect backdrop for your wedding entrance photoshoot.

The music you walk down the aisle to will stay in your memory for a lifetime. Choose an artist that understands just how important that song is to you.

For a fee of £150, you can hire the Steinway piano for ceremonies in the Bradenstoke Hall (only).

Chiavari chairs are included by Town and Country Collective, but if it is chair covers you dream of or an alternative chair style, then contact some of the best wedding stylists in South Wales.

Despite St Donat’s Castle being an abundance of natural beauty, we understand you will still want to make it your own. Whether that is with flowers, lanterns or vintage furniture these wedding stylists may just have the right style for you.
