Soon after the MSI 2024, League of Legends esports teams returned to the regional competition. Some plan to have another try on the international scene — at the LoL World Championship 2024. Others dream of a breakthrough at the LoL Summer Split 2024 to, at least, earn a spot at the Regional Finals.
LEC Summer 2024 and PCS Summer 2024 start on the same day, June 8. The Regular seasons continue until June 30 for LEC and up to July 14 for PCS. In this post on esports.gg, you’ll find their brief preview, a detailed schedule of matches, info on the stream — and eventually, the results.
LEC Summer 2024: Details
It is difficult for European teams to reach the top 1 placement in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC). G2 Esports players have been dominating the scene for quite a while. May the Summer 2024 split break this? G2 got the first LEC seed at the Mid-Season Invitational 2024, and they have reached the lower brackets semifinal.
Fnatic finished 2nd at LEC Spring 2024. They played at the MSI 2024 quite well, especially during Play-In — Humanoid and Jun are among the MVPs of this stage. Still, the Brackets matches did not go well for the team. Fnatic lost to the future champions, Gen.G, and then was eliminated by Team Liquid.
Other teams to watch out for are:
- MAD Lions — the players were 2nd at LEC Winter 2024 but only 6th at LEC Spring 2024;
- Team BDS finished 3rd in two European splits in 2024;
- Team Vitality reached the top 4 in spring, but winter brought the players only 5th place.

LEC Summer 2024: format and streams
The European LoL esports teams will play in two stages of the League of Legends LEC Summer 2024.
- Regular season: from June 8 to June 30; single Round Robin; Bo1 matches. The top 8 teams proceed further.
- Playoffs: from July 12 to July 28; double elimination brackets, Bo3 for Round 1 and 2, Bo5 for the rest matches.
At the end of the LEC Summer 2024 split, the top 4 teams earn their spots at the LEC Finals 2024, and the winner gets a spot at the LoL World Championship 2024.
The matches of LEC Summer 2024 are streamed on the LEC YouTube channel, and you can watch them on the official LoL Esports site with reward drops.

Pacific Summer 2024: Details
The Pacific region is minor in the League of Legends esports scene. Only one/two teams from the Pacific Championship Series (PCS) proceed to big international tournaments: MSI and Worlds.
PSG Talon won the PCS Spring Playoffs 2024 and qualified for the MSI 2024 Play-In. The team fell to the lower brackets after the very first match vs the NA team FlyQuest. But then, PSG Talon surprised the League of Legends community with their remarkable performance: the Hong Kong team eliminated two seemingly stronger opponents (including FluQuest) and qualified for the Brackets Stage.
PSG Talon looked surprisingly well in the match vs BLG. But then, the team lost to G2 esports and left the MSI 2024. It will be interesting to follow PSG Talon during their local championship.
Other teams to watch out for during PCS Summer 2024 are:
- CTBC Flying Oyster — the team finished first in the Regular season of PCS Spring 2024;
- f*ckuoka SoftBank HAWKS, runners-up at PCS Spring 2024 Playoffs;

PCS Summer 2024: format and stream
The Summer split of the Pacific Championship Series contains two stages; Regular season and Playoffs.
- The regular season continues from June 8 to July 14; Bo3 matches; the top 6 players proceed to Playoffs
The group system of the PCS Summer 2024 Regular season is somewhat complicated.
- In the first half, the teams play the classic Single Round Robin. The top 4 placements proceed to the Contender Group while they already have their Playoff qualification spots. Others proceed to the Breakout Group.
- In the second half, there are two groups with Single Round Robin matches in each. The third team in the Breakout Group will be eliminated. All the other teams will play in Playoffs, and their results affect their starting place in the brackets.
